DescriptionDaily meteorological records, made hourly, each sheet commencing at midnight and ending at 11.00pm. With columns for: mean time of observations; pressure of air; pressure of vapour; relative humidity; dew point; thermometers in Sun; ground thermometers; wind direction and force; form, direction and amount of cloud; state of zenith; amount and quality of atmospheric electricity; ozone; hours of fog, rain, snow hail and dew; amount of rain; spontaneous evaporation; and general remarks. There are selective totals of mean, maximum, minimum and maximum difference, with a box for solar and terrestrial radiation.

The volume has a typed list of contents pasted to the front end paper, which is also inscribed: 'Presented to the Library of the Royal Society London'. Front flyleaf is inscribed 'Melbourne Observatory' and signed by G.B. von Neumayer.
