DescriptionTables of hourly meteorological observations made from 6.00am on 17 March to 6.00am on 18 March 1843 at the Colonial Hospital and at the Seaman's Hospital, Georgetown, Demerara [then British Guyana, now the Republic of Guyana]. Columns for date and time, sympiesometer, attached thermometer, wet and dry bulb thermometer, dew point, short of saturation, degree of humidity, pluviometer and evaporometer, wind, clouds; with an electrometer (at the Seaman's Hospital).

Headed [p.1]: 'Meteorological Phenomena observed at Georgetown British Guiana between the hours of 6 o'clock A.M. of the 17th and 6 o'clock A.M. of the 18th of March 1843. N.B. the Sympiesometer as compared with the Barometer of the Royal Society is +068. The wire used for exploring the electrical condition of the air is 70 feet high without any pont of contact till it reaches the electrometer except at the exploring end where it is attached to a varnsihed glass rod'. Signed 'Daniel Blair...Colonial Surgeon'. Two similar inscriptions [p.2] including: '1843 British Guiana Desp. no.45 date 25th March Meteorological Tables taken in the 24 hours of the 17th March hourly 6 A.M. to 6 A.M.'.
