DescriptionTables of daily meteorological observations [pp.1-12] arranged by month, July-December 1843, and made at the Colonial Hospital, Georgetown, Demerara [then British Guyana, now the Republic of Guyana]. The readings were taken at 3.00am, 9.00am, 3.00pm and 9.00pm each day. Columns for date, time and Moon, attached thermometer, sympiesometer, and dry and wet bulb Mason's hygrometer.

Followed by cloud observations [pp.13-60] with individual sheets for recording data at the same hours, four sheets per month. Columns for day and date, wind, general clouds, prevalent clouds, point of density, drifting clouds, course and velocity, portion of sky covered, and general remarks.

Daily wind observations using Whewell's anemometer [pp.61-66] registered at 6.00am and at 6.00pm for the previous twelve hours, one sheet per two months. Columns for day and date, range of wind, prevalent wind, velocity, and wind at time of observation.

Hourly meteorological observations [pp.67-70] taken from 6.00am to 6.00pm on 21-22 September (September equinox) and on 21-22 December (December solstice). Columns for day and time, sympiesometer, Mason's hygrometer, pluviometer, evaporometer, wind, general clouds, prevalent clouds, point of density, drifting clouds, course and velocity, portion of sky covered, general remarks, anemometer, and wind at the time of observation.

Meteorological observations during 'land winds' [pp.71-74], at intervals ranging from five to fifty-five minutes on 5 July and on 15 August 1843. Recording day, date and time (hour and minutes), sympiesometer, Mason's hygrometer, pluviometer, wind and general remarks.,

Sheets have various headings, according to content, with ocasional signatures by Daniel Blair. Endorsed [p.74]: '1844 British Guiana Enclosure Desp. No.63 date March 28th. Meteorological Tables Colonial Hospital 6 months ending 31st Dec. 1843.' Stamped 'Received May 8 1844'.
