| Description | Daily meteorological observations from Parramatta, New South Wales. For the period May 1822-January 1823 there are columns for month and date, thermometer and barometer readings for morning noon and night [no times given], with general remarks on the weather. Readings from a hygrometer are added from 1 October 1822 [p.9]. There are additional descriptive remarks for the weather of February 1823 [p.15]. Thereafter, the tables are presented as fold-outs, with more detailed information. For February 1823 [p.17] columns for month and date, thermometer, barometer and hygrometer readings for morning noon and night [no times given], maximum and minumum of the thermometer, rainfall, evaporation, wind direction and force at morning, noon and night, with the appearence of the sky at those times. For March 1823 [p.18] barometer readings are of: the whole atmosphere, vapour suspended in the atmosphere, air free of moisture, rise and fall of the barometer, increase in air density, and increase in moisture; quantity of suspended moisture in a column of atmosphere, evaporating force, hygrometer reading, six types of atmospheric temperature readings, rain 30 feet above surface level and at the Earth's surface, wind direction and force, and appearence of the sky. The tables then revert to a simpler form [pp.19-20].
