DescriptionHourly observations made aboard HMS Owen Glendower from midnight to midnight on 21 March 1840 [Spring equinox], by officers of the watch and by Alexander Lindsay [see MA/85/2]. Barometer and thermometer readings are given, with a graphical representation of the barometer readings. Wind direction and stregth are noted, with comments on the weather, the Moon, and the ship's position by latitude and longitude.

Headed [p.1] 'Meteorological Register kept on board the Ship Owen Glendower on 21st March 1840 on her voyage from Calcutta to London'. Signed: 'A. Lindsay Major General'. Inscribed [p.2]: 'No.170'.
