DescriptionLord Glenelg had transmitted to him Lieutenant-Colonel Reid's work on storms and asked for information on the subject from Mauritius. Several vessels had come into port damaged from a storm to the east of Mauritius. The harbour master, Captain Royer, collected particulars from their log books and he transmits the resulting report, together with the registry of meteorological observations taken at Port Louis Observatory during 1839.
