TitleExtract from the Minutes of the Council of the British Association
Datec.1850
DescriptionProfessor [Heinrich Wilhelm] Dove, a Berlin Corresponding Member of the British Association, offered to provide the association with copies of his monthly isothermal maps based on temperature tables printed in the 1848 reports of the British Association. The council decided to request 500 copies from Professor Dove, with the association covering the cost of paper and printing. These copies would be sold to association members at a cost, accompanied by a translation of Professor Dove's explanatory report on the maps.
A proof copy of Mr. Dove's monthly isothermal maps, along with an attached memoir, was presented to the council in the proposed format for distribution to association members. A letter was to be sent to the President and Council of the Royal Society, offering copies to their fellows at the same price paid by association members.
