Description | Remarks on [Robert William Frederick Harrison's] letter [MC/19/198], and its Christy feeling some 'resentment at its tone'. Christy remarks he has 'no inclination to discuss matters' with [Harrison], not impled that he is 'in the habit of deliberately making mistatements'. Christy explains he called on the Royal Society and pointed out the mistake. He was told it has been noticed but cannot be altered, therefore he wrote his first letter in connection with this. Refers to his second letter in which he suggested the error was made by the cartographer. Christy calls this a 'serious error' and is certain the Chairman of the Sleeping Sickness [African trypanosomiasis] Commission would be the first to alter it. Requests agin for the error to be rectified. Enclosed is a copy of a letter from [Robert William Frederick Harrison], Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Christy, dated 8 June 1904, consisting of one page [same as the enclosure to MS/19/198]. |
