Title | Letter from [Louis Napoleon George] Filon, Vega, Blenheim Crescent, South Croydon, to Sir Joseph Larmor, [Royal Society] |
Creator | Filon; Louis Napoleon George (1875 - 1937) |
Date | 15 October1912 |
Description | Informs he has received the manuscript of a short note by Dr Russell severely criticising the takes given by Dr Jeffery in his paper. States he has reported that Dr Russell's criticism should be printed without alteration but that there are two points he wishes to make. The first being an apology for presenting a paper with numerical errors and the second in relation to Mr Jeffery, speculating that the error is due to an "absurd arithmetical blunder". Enquires whether it would be possible to place Mr Jeffery in direct communication with Dr Russell, to give him a chance of tracing his mistake and at the same time vindicating the formula. |
