TitleLetter from E.A.W Phillips, Rawdon House, 4 Aymer Road, Hove, to The Secretary, The Royal Society, Burlington House
CreatorPhillips; Ernest Alfred William (fl 1916); engineer
Date21 April 1917
DescriptionAcknowledges previous correspondence and informs he intends to avail himself of the advice and seek aid of one of the Fellows of the Royal Society who is also a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers. Clarifies what work he has already done in relation to the discovery of Tripod in British Weights and Measures, stating where his work was published, emphasising that his work is nothing original or not published elsewhere but he desires to acquaint the Society with the facts of the discovery and to establish in a paper by the scientific rule of at least three coincidences, of which he hopes to produce nearly 20. Seeks guidance from the Royal Society and states he has tested his theory in all respects, satisfied that it is sound.
