For this purpose it will be necessary to raise sufficient money to provide an adequate annual interest to pay lecture fees, publishing etc. I am instructed by my Council to ask if you will be good enough to forward particulars (if any), of any scheme in connection with you Society which was founded on the above lines, as it is felt that before proceeding some guidance should be obtained from Societies which are already have such endowed lectures. Any help you may be able to render the Society in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Yours faithfully, E.J.Thackeray'.
