Title | Letter from H C H Carpenter, Imperial College of Science and Technology (Royal School of Mines), South Kensington, London, to [Francis Alexander] Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society, Burlington House |
Description | 'Dear Mr. Towle, Can you tell me whether there is any proscribed limit to the length of obituary notices pf Fellow of the Society? I am engaged at ptesent on the obituary of Sir George Beilby. His work covered many fields and it looks as though an adequate obituary would cover a good many pages in the Proceedings. I do not, however, wish to transgress any prescribed limits. Would you kindly let me know what regulations there are, if any, about the length of such obituaries. Yours sincerely, H.C.H.Carpenter'.
