TitleLetter from Dr M O Foster, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, to Sir Charles [Scott] Sherrington, The Royal Society, London
Date29 April 1925
Description'Dear Mr. President, In view of the vacancy occurring amongst those Fellows who have been elected under Chapter I paragraph 12, due to the lamented death of the Marquess Curzon, I venture to suggest that, if not already under consideration by yourself and the Council, the name of Viscount Reading may be discussed as a suitable one to fill the vacancy. Assuming that the Viceroy of India may be regarded as coming within the Statute, I think it may safely be said that his election would give general satisfaction to the now considerable number of scientific workers who labour in various quarters of the Indian Empire. I am, Dear Mr. President, Yours very faithfully, M.O.Foster'.
