Description | Details of closing exercises of the Bicentennial celebrations at Princeton, for which Mackenzie had been the Royal Society representative. Stayed with [Allen] Shenstone. Attended [Harold Willis] Dodds' garden party and a Boston Symphony Orchestra concert. Attended laying of Harvey S Firestone Memorial Library cornerstone and H S Taylor's garden party, with many distinguished guests including Herbet Hoover and Governor General of Canada. Briefly discusses official ceremonies attended by guests such as the President of United States and [Dwight] Eisenhower.
Robinson's reply is drafted on the back of the letter; thanks Mackenzie for the detailed description. The Chemical Society Centenary and first Congress of Chemistry are just beginning. |
