Title | Copy letter from [Alfred Egerton] to Owen W [Willans] Richardson |
Creator | Egerton; Sir; Alfred Charles Glyn (1886-1959); British chemist |
Recipient | Richardson; Sir; Owen Willans (1879-1959); British physicist |
Date | 25 September 1939 |
Description | 'Dear Richardson, Many thanks for your letter. I certainly think the echelon would be far safer in your keeping in Hampshire and I expect your own house is really as safe as anywhere. You don't say what size of safe you suggest or the cost of it; but if you would let me know this I would ask the Treasurer to agree to the purchase of it, or if you would let me know the size I would see if I could find one in London suitable. I am informing the Clerk of the Government Grant Committee of the apparatus which you have taken down to the country. You wrote some little time ago about an assistant; I imagine that now the request no longer stands. With my best wishes, Yours sincerely'. |
