Description | The British Commonwealth Scientific Office in Washington has recenty notified them that it is now extremely difficult to obtain return passages to the United Kingdom for visitors in the USA, due to the small number of ships operating on the North Atlantic route. Presently only the "Queen Elizabeth" and the "Washington" ships are sailing, but the former is completely booked. This situation is expected to improve by late summer, but meanwhile the BCSO has asked that Departments likely to be affected are informed. He requests that those intending to visit the USA from the Royal Society are warned of these conditions. |
