TitleLetter from Max Born, Dept of Natural Philosophy, University at Edinburgh, to A V Hill
Date10 December 1942
DescriptionInforms Hill that he has been to a lecture in which the existence of an 'Inter-Allied Committee for the Supervision of the Political Activities of Aliens of German and Austrian Origin' was revealed, and data suggesting that only 500 aliens were considered 'reliable'. Would like to draw Hill's attention to this claim in his capacity of MP. Is much worried about the Darlan affair - 'even the terrible experiences of this war are not sufficient to mark a clear line between decent people and that kind of scoundrels who have brought us into the mess'.
