Title | Letter from Oliver Joseph Lodge, 2 Grove Park, Liverpool, to the Secretaries of the Royal Society |
Date | 14 February 1895 |
Description | As a supplement to his previous letter on the Gunning Fund and supposing that the fund would be applied equally to physical and biological sciences, Lodge suggests that awards could be made to overlapping areas of science. He gives the example in physics and physiology, such as animal phosphorescence or animal electricity. Such combined research would prevent the splitting of the fund between two groups and might stimulate a young researcher in investigations of this type. |
