TitleLetter from Charles Smart Roy, Pathological Laboratory, New Museums, Cambridge, to Michael Foster
Date26 April 1893
DescriptionHe asks that Foster submit his request for a grant of £100 from Royal Society funds in aid of scientific research. He has been engaged in enquiries on the physiology and pathology of blood circulation for some time and he requires new and expensive apparatus. His work in print is coming to a standstill for want of money. He needs a convenient and accurate method of measuring the volume of blood passing through the various arteries of the body. He has devised instruments which are promising and he wishes to carry on.

C.S. Roy was awarded a grant of £50 from the Royal Society's Donation Fund in April 1893, 'in aid of his researches on the physiology and pathology of the circulation of the blood'.
