Title | Letter from Thomas Mudge, Lincoln's Inn, London to Sir Joseph Banks |
Date | 12 March 1793 |
Description | Regreting the application now being made to Parliament by his Father does not meet with Banks's approbation. He also assures Banks that in the attack he has made upon Dr Maskelyne he never meant to imply any reflection upon Banks.
Thomas Mudge petitioned Parliament after his Father's instrument to determine Longitude was awarded £500. Mudge believed it should have claimed the higher sums offered by the Board of Longitude and blamed Nevil Maskelyne for this. |
