Title | Letter from Peter Greenwood; Cromwell Road, London; to Ian Dunn; Lake Katwe, Uganda |
Creator | Dunn; Ian George (1934 - ); biologist |
Date | 8 August 1967 |
Description | Agrees with Dunn's methodology in researching Haplochromis. Asks if joint work with Lesley McGowan will continue through the year and recommends it does as 'there is every chance of the results being a bit misleading if you did not have comparable catches during periods when the insect fauna was at a low level'. Asks for clarification with the use of seine nets versus gill nets and if Dunn is catching different species entirely when using one or the other.
Says that he sympathises with Dunn's frustration with the Royal Society and says that he will do what he can to ensure that there is a plan in place for the future of the project. However warns Dunn that he can only do so much lobbying. Assures Dunn that he doesn't mind being a confident but cannot promise he will 'act as father confessor' because he wants to see the problems settled. |
