TitleLetter from Edward Sabine to Humphrey Lloyd
Date24 January 1839
DescriptionSabine had hoped to send Lloyd 30 copies of the report of the Royal Society on Wednesday last, and to have provided Captain [John Theophilus] Boileau with 250 copies, but through some error at the printers only ten had been bound.

Discussion of some letters of Sabine and Lloyd which seem to have been printed in error and are now a 'sad nuisance'.

[Karl Friedrich] Gauss's desire for an observatory at Hammerfest has apparently been defeated, much to Sabine's dismay.
