| Description | Buckland encloses a letter to his uncle, sent from Mr Templer, as part of it relates to him. Buckland has written a letter to Lord Grenville declining the pension and forwards Grenville's compliments on the wisdom of the decision. Notes that the Duke of Buckingham has commented that he ought to take the charity, despite initially saying that the house was bad and the income small and advising that Buckland should see it before committing himself. He is just back from a visit to Stowe and from Lord Spencer's house on the Isle of Wight and to Althorpe the week before. He is next at the Geological Society and then to Devon. He intends to go to Sir Thomas Acland to see Kent's Hole [Kent's Cavern, Torquay] and states that he may be reached at Axminster and at the Salopian Coffee House. |
