Title | Letter from Alexander Bryson, Edinburgh to Edward Sabine |
Date | 24 March 1860 |
Description | The ‘executors’ of the late Sir Thomas [Macdougall] Brisbane have entrusted Bryson to the sale of his instruments and remarks on his desire for them to be exposed to the ‘best market’. Bryson states his difficulty with the magnetic instruments due to the dissolution of the Magnetic Congress and the instruments and therefore the instruments being of little value. Professor [James David] Forbes suggested to Bryson to offer the instruments to Sabine at an offer that would be satisfactory to the executors who look only to ‘money value’. |
