| Description | Tables of Warren de la Rue's astronomical observations recording sunspot activity between August and December 1866, accompanied by albumen prints. Data recorded is indicated at the start of the volume, with each data set represented by a letter of the alphabet, as follows: A) Name of spot; B) Reading of vernier on A Slide; C) Distance from apparent centre of the sun; D) Radial distance; E) Observed angle of position; F) Distance from optical centre of instruments.
Part of the Kew Observatory project to capture daily images of the sun and track sun-spots over time, using the photoheliograph built for this purpose by Warren de la Rue. This pursuit was first suggested by Sir Jon Herschel and executed by Warren de la Rue from February 1862 to late January 1871.
