DescriptionAlphabetical list [pp.2-3] of saloon passengers aboard the steamship 'Germanic', sailing from Liverpool to New York, commanded by Captain C.W. [Charles William] Kennedy. The passenger list includes Thomas Edward Thorpe and Arthur Schuster, en route to America to conduct eclipse observations. There is a track chart [p.4], showing the transatlantic routes taken by White Star ships. With a 'Passenger's copy of log', presumably made by T.E. Thorpe, giving dates, latitude, longitude and distance travelled, with general meteorological remarks during the passage from Queenstown, Ireland, to Sandy Hook, New Jersey, United States of America.
