DescriptionPortrait of eight members of the teaching staff of Anderson’s Institution, Glasgow, variously seated and standing, and shown in academic gowns. Thomas Edward Thorpe occupied the Chair of Technical Chemistry 1870-1874 and is standing third from the left of the group.

Printed on the reverse: CRAMB, BROTHERS, PHOTOGRAPHERS TO THE QUEEN. 67, WEST NILE STREET, GLASGOW. JURY AWARD HONORABLE MENTION At International Exhibition, LONDON, 1862 AND AT Paris, 1867.’
