Title | Copy letter, JWL [John William Lubbock], RS [Royal Society], to C [Charles] Few |
Creator | Lubbock; Sir John William; third baronet (1803-1865); British astronomer and banker |
Recipient | Few; Charles ( - ); British solicitor |
Date | 18 May 1839 |
Description | He thinks that all of the resolution minutes should be copied into a book with a table of contents and index to save Mr Bethune time. He will give orders for this, but thinks that Few should look over the Society's books to determine what is essential and that any person Few has employed is more likely to copy in a satisfactory manner. He cannot let the minutes of Council go out of his possession but will write to the President for his authority. He draws Few's attention to the Library Committee minute recommending that Mr [Anthony] Panizzi should have only £10 per 1,000 titles for books not entering into his agreement, but is unsure if this was communicated to Panizzi; Dr [Peter Mark] Roget will know. |
