| Title | Copy letter, John William Lubbock, Treasurer of the Royal Society, to Dr [William] Prout |
| Date | 28 March 1832 |
| Description | Before returning the matter to Council, Lubbock wants to understand Prout's wishes clearly. Mr [John Frederic] Daniell declines to have anything to do with the barometer until Council find a place for a meteorological observatory. This is beyond the Society's powers and Lubbock does not wish to ask for Daniell's further assistance. Whether or not a full set of barometical observations is attempted, the Society should have a standard barometer. If Lubbock has misunderstood Daniell, he asks that Prout solicits Daniell's views. |
