Description | In response to Airy's enquiry as to whether the Royal Society are able to lend out clocks to be used in the observations of the Transits of Venus in 1874 and 1882 . White informs him that two clocks are currently in use at Kew Observatory, but that the Society have no other clocks available for this use.
