Description | Extended description of atmospheric phenomena from an initial viewing of silvery white light 15 minutes before sunset on 12 September 1883. Evening sky-colouring over a considerable period commenced with this light, then after sunset a fiery red light which continued for three or four hours. Notes the slight shocks of earthquakes on 13 October 1883 and encloses meteorological tables.
