Description | Letter copied by Cyril Longhurst in his hand
Shackleton quite understands the views of the Committee as explained to him by Lonhurst, with respect to Shackleton's resignation from the Expedition, and is willing to acept the sum of fifty pounds offered by them as compensation for loss sustained in various preparations for the Expedition. He is much obliged to the Committee for the considertion they have shown and much regret that these circumstances have arisen. Hopes this will be the last time he shall have to trouble Longhurst with this somewhat painful correspondence and wishes to express his obligations to him. |
