Title | Letter from Edward L S [Lygon Somars] Cocks, 43 Charing Cross, to [Alfred Bray] Kempe |
Creator | Cocks; Edward Lygon Somars (1858-1923); treasurer of the Royal Geographical Society |
Date | 21 August 1901 |
Description | [Cyril] Longhurst arrived with several cheques which Cocks confirms he has signed. Some small amounts were for men employed at the docks, and two were for Bernacchi's expenses for Potsdam and Melbourne. He did not sign the £125 cheque for freight, as this was payable to [Edward] Else and Cocks felt this should be made out to the shipping company for the exact cost. Longhurst has gone to make enquiries regarding this with P&O. |
