Title | Copy letter from T [Thomas Henry] Tizard to Dr [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Tizard; Thomas Henry (1839-1924); hydrographer |
Date | 8 May 1903 |
Description | The Hydrographer does not wish to meet on Thursday as there is a joint meeting that day and Admiralty business to attend to. Asks if they could meet sometime before then, to 'decide what we should advocate exactly'. Thinks it inadvisable to approach the Government without the full particulars, particularly [Robert Falcon] Scott's report of the situation of the 'Discovery'. Believes a joint meeting to listen to the Geographical Section's proposals would be desirable, particularly ' to understand whether instructions as to what should be done last March, if the "Discovery" was found frozen in were purposely, or accidenttally, omitted'. If the vessel is frozen in, wonders whether orders could be given to abandon the 'Discovery' and have the crew return on the 'Morning'. |
