TitleLetter from Sir Clements Markham, 21 Eccleston Square, to Sir William Huggins
CreatorMarkham; Sir; Clements Robert (1830-1916); President of the Royal Geographical Society
Date24 May 1903
DescriptionSent Scott's documents, with a typed copy, to the Royal Society within 36 hours of their arrival. [Robert William Frederick] Harrison asked for copies for the Royal Society's officers, and another copy was sent to the Admiralty. 'No other use is intended to be made of the dispatches in pamphlet form'. A meeting of the Royal Geographical Society will be held on 10 June, which will report on the expedition and show some of the photographs. Scott's reports only give a 'general sketch' of their work, and the scientific work will have to be worked on when the expedition returns. Invites Huggins to a dinner at the Geographical Club before the meeting.
