DescriptionInvitations to visit the Greenwich Observatory were sent to some of the foreign delagates. The invitiations were sent by the Admiralty, in the name of the President of the Royal Society, and mentioned a dinner. Therefore the delegates 'came evidently supposing that they had been invited to dinner, as well as to the Observatory'. [Joseph] Larmor paid for their dinners, and Huggins wishes to reimburse him the £4.40.
