Title | Draft letter from [Alfred Bray Kempe], The Royal Society, Burlington House, to [Edward Bagnall] Poulton |
Creator | Kempe; Sir; Alfred Bray (1849-1922) |
Recipient | Poulton; Sir; Edward Bagnall (1856-1943); zoologist |
Date | 22 June 1903 |
Description | Poulton should already have received a receipt for his contribution to the 'Stokes memorial'. Concerning the latter portion of Poulton's letter [see MS/547/7/49], Kempe confirms that the Antarctic Expedition has been a source of considerable anxiety and was pleased that Poulton was satisfied with the actions of the Officers. The Government has agreed to take over responsiblity for the relief expedition, but will leave the affairs of the 'Discovery' to the joint Finance Committee. |
