Title | Letter from J [John] Brown, Longhurst, Dunmurry, Belfast, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Brown; John (1850-1911); British manufacturer |
Date | 28 December 1903 |
Description | The enclosed [not present] was suggested by some preliminary trials on apparatus for Larmor's thermo volta experiment. The experiment was interesting. Brown's idea is to send the manuscript to the Philosophical Magazine, but because of his recent election to the Royal Society he seeks Larmor's advice. He thinks that Proceedings papars are not so prominent as those in the Philosophical Magazine and his paper is not important enough for the Philosophical Transactions. He will attack the induction matter next and Alexander has sent his views on that. He hopes his congratulations on Larmor's appointment was inverse to its brevity and everyone in Ireland was proud of their countryman. He asks for any suggestions that Larmor may have. |
