TitleLetter from James Stirling, Royal Courts of Justice, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorStirling; Sir James (1836-1916); British judge
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date21 December 1905
DescriptionStirling is sorry to say that he cannot contribute anything to the memoir of [George Gabriel] Stokes. He attended some of his lectures at Cambridge and was examined by him for the Smith's Prize, but otherwise he had no chance of cultivating his acquaintance. He did not meet Stokes for many years, but he was always very friendly. Stirling is about to start for Finchcocks for the vacation and hopes to have some rest.
