| Title | Letter from James Stirling, Finchocks, Goudhurst, Kent, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Stirling; Sir James (1836-1916); British judge |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 23 February 1914 |
| Description | He gives thanks for Larmor's letter of 21 February. He has complied with Larmor's wishes about the note to [Arthur] Schuster. He can make nothing of equation 2 by itself, but takes advantage of equation 6 and gets something similar to [George Gabriel] Stokes. He would be glad if Larmor could look at pp.148-9 in volume 4 of the Mathematical and Physical Papers and then comment on his note. |
