TitleLetter from G [George] Johnstone Stoney, 8 Upper Hornsey Rise, London, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorStoney; George Johnstone (1826-1911); Irish physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date2 August 1899
DescriptionStoney received a commemorative photograph of the [George Gabriel] Stokes jubilee and he thinks Larmor must have been responsible, for which he gives thanks. He would have written sooner, hoping to enclose a paper, but he has not yet received copies. He hopes Larmor will take a holiday, but Stoney has stayed at home, due to age and work. If Larmor is in town, he hopes that he will visit to see the experiment illustrating 'Stokes's layer', from volme 2 of his papers. This deals with cases of total reflection. He encloses papers on other topics [not present].
