TitleLetter from Harold A [Albert] Wilson, Trinity College, Cambridge, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorWilson; Harold Albert (1874-1964); British physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date23 January 1903
DescriptionWilson is thinking of making measurements of the electric force induced in dielectrics moving in a mganetic field. His idea is to rotate a hollow cylinder of dielectric about its axis, in a parallel magneitc field. He describes this arrangement in more detail, with a rough diagram of the intended equipment. He asks Larmor if he thinks there will be an effect, and his intention is to apply to the Royal Society for a grant to cover the equipment costs.
