DescriptionWoodward acknowldges the receipt of volume 4 of Kelvin's papers, and two earlier papers, one on thermodynamics and another on the elastic solid theory of the Earth. He laments his now amateur status, saying that he only knows thermodynamics from his automobile, but he still hopes to have something to say on the subject of the Earth. He and Mrs Woodward are pleased to learn that Larmor will attend the Solar Conference at Pasadena, and they hope he will visit them in Washington.
