Title | Letter from C [Charles] Chree, 75 Church Road, Richmond, Surrey, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Chree; Charles (1860-1928); British physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 1 November 1909 |
Description | Chree has been informed by [Richard Tetley] Glazebrook of the discussions of the future of the [National Physical] Observatory at Kew, building on an early suggestion of possibly 'terminating the existing M.O. [Meteorological Office] arrangements' by the end of 1910. Chree sent a statement of his thoughts to Glazebrook, and is concerned for the staff at Kew, as 'there is nothing to show that their interests are being looked after at all'. Chree elaborates on the options, and financial considerations, for the National Physical Laboratory and the Meteorological Office.
