Title | Letter from C [Charles] Chree, 75 Church Road, Richmond, Surrey, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Chree; Charles (1860-1928); British physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 1 January 1912 |
Description | Chree notes that they have been short-staffed, which is causing difficulties. He then states that he believes that the International Meteorological Committee would be strongly in favour of magnetic observations in South Africa, and that in Berlin they have supported the idea of an observatory in Central Africa. He also notes that [Louis Agricola] Bauer found some errors in the British, German, and U.S magnetic charts for the Indian Ocean, which need addressing.
