TitleLetter from Margaret Lindsay Huggins, 90 Upper Tulse Hill, S W [South West], to Professor [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorHuggins; Margaret Lindsay (1848 - 1915); Née; Murray; wife of William Huggins FRS; Irish-English astronomer; spectroscopist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date19 June 1904
DescriptionHuggins is very grateful to Larmor for the invitation to the dinner at the Ulster Graduates Association, which they [Margaret Huggins and William Huggins] happily and enthusiastically accept. However, she asks that Larmor will be understanding if William Huggins changes his mind, although if so they will try not to inconvenience Larmor. She notes that in her younger years in Ireland, she was often in 'legal society' as her father was a solicitor and and her brother a barrister, and states that in her experience 'barristers - especially Irish ones - are capital company', although as she is half Scotch she states that she feels the same for Scottish ones too.
