Title | Letter from Margaret Lindsay Huggins, 90 Upper Tulse Hill, S W [South West], to Sir Joseph [Larmor] |
Creator | Huggins; Margaret Lindsay (1848 - 1915); Née; Murray; wife of William Huggins FRS; Irish-English astronomer; spectroscopist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); British theoretical physicist |
Date | 18 October 1910 |
Description | Huggins was surprised to be told by Sir [David] Gill that the use of chemical processes for the reproductions has been ruled out. She reports that they do not have all of the [William] Herschel papers but thinks that their collection contains the most important ones. She supposes that they are missing many illustrations, although they have many plates that she thinks could be easily reproduced. This is discussed further. She asks for Larmor's word that the plates will be well taken care of. She touches further on the disputes between Mr Wesley and Mr Hardcastle. |
