Title | Letter from Margaret Lindsay Huggins, 90 Upper Tulse Hill, S W [South West], to Sir Joseph [Larmor] |
Creator | Huggins; Margaret Lindsay (1848 - 1915); Née; Murray; wife of William Huggins FRS; Irish-English astronomer; spectroscopist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); British theoretical physicist |
Date | 29 October 1910 |
Description | Huggins asks if Larmor has read Professor Newall's article on [William Huggins] in 'Science Progress' for October 1910, and if so what he thinks of it. She is very anxious about this, and about the memoir for 'Proceedings of the Royal Society', as she feels that 'there are so few who have the necessary knowledge; & who have also a right judgement, and the power of seeing things in just perspective'. She wishes that Larmor had written the memoir, but astrophysics is not his subject. She suggests asking 'some foreigner' to write the memoir, such as 'Professor Kayser of Bohn'. |
