DescriptionHuggins discusses wanting to see Larmor, and that she has been invited by the Newalls to visit Cambridge. She is interested in the new Cambridge Astrophysical Observatory and hopes it will be known as the Huggins Observatory. She would like to feel sure that her friendship with Larmor continues. She is very sad about the terminal deterioration of health of Dr [George Johnstone] Stoney, and the impact that this has had on his family. She also discusses the difficulties caused by his chemical paper: she describes him as 'a Fury incarnate', who 'did, or he does now, claim far too much for himself. And he is cruelly unjust to Sir G [George Gabriel] Stokes'. She also discusses his work in relation to Professor E Reynolds. She provides an anecdote of how 'difficult' Stoney's daughter is to get along with. Lastly, Huggins discusses her plan for her continuing work on a 'Life' of Sir William Huggins. She has a friend at A&C Black publishers who would be willing to publish the work.
