Description | Mr [John] Collier intends to have one more sitting for the portrait he is painting of William Huggins for the Royal Society. She is pleased that Collier has consulted her throughout the process. She praises Collier's work enthusiastically, feeling that he has produced an 'admirable likeness; and moreover - one which is fresh and very original' and 'one of the best things yet added' to the Royal Society's collection. She explains the decision to use the presidential chair in the portrait. |
